Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized by her highly commendable performances in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work which includes an Oscar. In her early years her acclaimed actress started performing on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. She is a lover of acting ever since she started school. The first time she appeared in a production in fifth grade was as Helen Keller. The mumps that she contracted left her deaf and blind in one ear, but she didn't let this hinder her progress as an actress. In her early years, she was a drama student in college and moved to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could follow her dreams. Through a random encounter, she got stuck in an elevator alongside writer Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart that became Hunter's debut. Her first role in film came after she relocated from Los Angeles. Her career spans more than thirty years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows, films and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star as well as a winner of the Women in Film Lucy Award.
